Gaia doubling up
ONE of the leading information technology systems providers in Wales is doubling the size of its Bangor workforce – with backing from the Assembly Government.
Gaia Technologies, formed in 1992 by three graduates from Bangor University, now manages computer networks for businesses, education bodies and health trusts UK-wide.
To gain room for growth, the company has moved from cramped premises in Bangor to a new base at Britannia Park on the Parc Menai estate – and is expanding its working team from 19 to 39 skilled people.
Gaia’s expansion programme is being supported by a Regional Selective Assistance grant from the Assembly Government.
Deputy First Minister Ieuan Wyn Jones said: “This young company has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to quality and customer care which will underpin its plans for growth – and for the creation of more valuable job opportunities at Bangor.”
So far this financial year, the Assembly Government has offered capital investment grants worth more than 10m to firms in North Wales to assist projects representing total investment in excess of 110m and involving the creation or safeguarding more than 1,000 jobs

schools and academies to develop new and bespoke
lessons tailored specifically to individual school needs.
Each lesson can be enhanced by the teacher with the
capability to quickly and easily embed external videos
and images directly into the lessons provided. All new
content is immediately accessible and shared between
schools—giving you access to a constantly expanding
collection of 3D models.
